What's a JP synth bass? Well, let's break it down.
-Roland, a popular manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, came out with the JP-8000 Music Synthesizer, which was considered very advanced at the time (and still is), for most electronic musicians. It combines the powerful sounds associated with vintage analog synths, while incorporating digital technology, making it the ultimate tool.
-A synth (short for synthesizer) is an electronic instrument that can usually produce a wide range of sounds, usually imitating other instruments. Effects range from piano to drums, to even more bizarre effects like haunted house and animal sounds.
-And a bass? You should already know, but just in case, a bass is a musical instrument that produces tones in the low-pitched range.
Now, combine all three, and you've got yourself a JP synth bass!

The JP Synth Bass has officially been added to the growing list of instruments in Roc, our music creator. You can find the latest installment in the instruments tool bar, located on the right hand side. There are 12 new synth bass effects to mess with! Use this new sound pack to create a stand alone tune, or add it to your existing songs. And remember, every instrument, including JP Synth Bass, is licensed under creative commons attribution, and can be used commercially. This means that you can use any music you've created in Roc (even in a commercial project!) as long as you give Aviary credit.

What should you do with this synth bass? No worries, Bruce, the man behind Roc, has created a sample demo for you. Launch Roc now to see what you can do.
Hint for Day 23 release (coming Tuesday): A synthesizer that compliments techno, drums, and bass!
