I noticed AtomArk's very first creation because I have a thing for lone birds. When I saw his image, Learning to fly, it made me feel nostalgic. I decided to watch and see what he was up to and sure enough some amazing creations started popping up. For someone with no formal art background, he shows us his minds beautiful images in wonderful and unexpected ways.

I retired from the Air Force about 2 years ago and I'm currently going to school and looking for work in IT. Strangely enough, I worked in Financial Management in the AF.
So...I've never pursued a career in any artistic field, however, music and art is practically all that has interested me my whole life.
I'm a terrible artist with my hands (it never stopped me from trying and loving art and artists all while growing up); something just gets lost in translation, but ever since I got a home computer in 1994 with Windows 3.11, I've looked for ways to create art with software. I started with Microsoft Paint (how silly) and have since moved into anything from Photoshop, Xara, ZBrush, Bryce, Vue Esprit, Groboto, Terragen, Ultra Fractal, Maxon Cinema and anything else on which on can get my hands. So, once I saw Peacock, it was inevitable that I gave it a go. I love the hub concept and fact that there's so much to discover with it. It's hubs are familiar, yet new all at the same time and I adore how you can start with something simple and just end up with something so intricate and interesting to behold. A couple of my creations were just merely happy accidents, a couple were inspired by other artist's "hub work" and a couple were me pushing my own envelope to see if I could make a vision come to life. My personal favorites (of my own work) are Flow 2 (of which no one seemed interested), however two more of my favorites, that were more or less derivatives of that, are Sanctum and Guardian. I also like Migration, Cubosis, The Sun Hurts My Eyes, The Unbalanced, Spirotic, have a special place in my heart for my first creation and it's derivative Learning to Fly and Learning to Nest.
As far as how I work, you might be able to tell I like repeating geometric shapes. I've always experimented with it in my work and Peacock EXCELS at this. It was like someone read my mind when they created Shape Draw. I also like to create abstracts, things with 3D-like/depth features and taking abstracts and inserting them into more traditional settings. I like the juxtaposition.
My influences over the years have been anything from my own random visions to works from Michael Parkes, Scott Mutter, MC Escher, Dali and others too numerous to list. I do have a thing for Dali...always have.
At present, I'm creating 10 or 12 different pieces on about 4 different programs. I've been away from Aviary for a few weeks with that and studying for a test, but the Peacock-Wiki has me particularly excited and I feel a few more Peacock creations coming on. I'd like to incorporate some elements "resources" from my other work. I'm secretly hoping that Peacock and Hummingbird will be tied together and that, some day, Peacock will have a hub to import 3D models and add some ZBrush elements such as symmetry modeling/painting. I'm still baffled by AutoPainter as much as I love it. As far as my other work (http://atomark.deviantart.com/), it's simple because as I said, I'm not an artist (by trade or training), but I do my best with the amazing software I find to bring all the visions in my head to life. Plus, creating art (IMO) is a very relaxing way to pass the time.
Tidbits: I'm color-blind (severely red-green deficient) and I'm a classically-training pianist.
So there, you probably got more than you would choose to get from me, but I have a tendency to try to paint with words also. It's a sickness really ;).
