What is funk you ask? It's a combination of soul music, jazz, and R&B. Funk is rhythmic, it makes your hips shake, and it's the ultimate feel-good song when you're feeling down. Let's be serious, it's so good it should be illegal! Funk creates a groove by using strong bass guitar riffs with catchy and unconventional bass lines. A mixture of thumb-slapped low notes and finger-plucked high notes creates the distinctive sound of funk, making it undeniably addicting to listen to.

Today, we're hoping on the funky town train!

Funk Bass has officially been added to the growing list of instruments in Roc, our music creator. You can find the latest installment in the instruments tool bar, located on the right hand side. Use this new sound pack to create a stand alone tune, or add it to your existing songs. And remember, every instrument, including Funk Bass, is licensed under creative commons attribution, and can be used commercially. This means that you can use any music you've created in Roc (even in a commercial project!) as long as you give Aviary credit.

Launch Roc now to get funky dunky!
